To celebrate the release of the new Lamborghini and first hybrid car produced by the brand, called “Lamborghini Revuelto”, which makes +1000hp with both electric and gasoline engines combined, this month’s car is also going to be from the same brand, this time: the Lamborghini Aventador.

And this month’s car is… the Lamborghini Aventador!

The Lamborghini Aventador is a series of cars produced by the italian car manufacturer Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A.

The series of Aventadors started in 2011 and finished last year, in 2022. Its sucessor is… yes, you guessed it: Lamborghini Revuelto!

Fun fact: The name “Aventador” comes from a bull, due to the passion Ferrucio Lamborghini had with bulls.

Engine

As every single Aventador has the same engine, here are its specs:

Cylinders: 12 Arrangement: V 60° Displacement: 6,5L Induction: N/A Valvetrain: DOHC, 4 valves/cylinder + VVT Max. power: 700hp @ 8.250rpm Max. torque: 690 N·m @ 5.500rpm

Aventador LP 700-4 (2011-2016)

This was the first Aventador produced and it was designed by Filippo Perini.

The LP 700-4 was a 2-seater coupe supercar. It had a 7-speed automatic transmission, with an AWD drivetrain.

Its performance:

  • 0-100km/h: 2.9s
  • 0-160km/h: 6.4s
  • 100-0km/h: 30m

With the same engine, same specs and name, the roadster version was presented in 2012, and includes a removable roof.

Aventador SuperVeloce LP 750-4 (2015–2017)

Also called Aventador SV, the SuperVeloce model was presented in 2015. This time, the power was increased by 50, making the total power 740hp. The total weight was also reduced by 50kg, which made the car even more agile and faster.

Other aerodynamic upgrades were also made.

The roadster variant of the previous model was unveiled in 2016. As usual in the roadsters, the roof could be removed. The total weight of the car was once again reduced 50kg. The total number of cars made were 500.

Aventador S LP 740-4 (2016–2021)

This model, without the “V” on the name, was presented in 2016.

Not much changes were made to this car, just a 10hp decrease and improved suspension amongst other minor changes.

Lamborghini Aventador S

The third roadster version of the model was unveiled in 2017, and yes, you guessed it, included a removable roof. Nonetheless, this version weighted 50kg than the original S model, reducing the 0-100km/h to 3.2s, 0.3s slower than the standard version.

Aventador SVJ LP 770-4 (2018–2021)

The Aventador SVJ, one of my favorite cars, was presented in 2018. SVJ stands for Super Veloce Jota, which means this model is a track-focused car.

It included a big rear spoiler, with a large rear diffuser, which combined increased the downforce 50%.

The car was able to produce 760hp and 720N·m, the best specs on the Aventador series.

Nothing more than a removable roof.

Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae (2021)

The last version produced of the Aventador series, the Aventador Ultimae was presented in July 2021 and was limited to 600 units. The power was once again increased to 770hp, but this time the torque was the same.

Fun fact: 15 Ultimaes were destroyed after a cargo ship carrying them sinked in the sea.
